Handwriting comes alive with Montegrappa's exquisite Calligraphy pen

Montegrappa Calligraphy penApril 25, 2016: Italian manufacturer of fine writing instruments, Montegrappa, presents its latest Calligraphy pen.

Designed by Lebanese artist, Katya Assouad Traboulsi, the pen flaunts intricate, multi-colored arabesque motifs, both on its silver cap and on its elegant silver-rimmed, bamboo black celluloid body. Set in either gold or silver, the barrel features an Arabic calligraphy phrase that translates into “the pen transports culture,” a testament to Montegrappa’s dedication to enhancing and transmitting knowledge.

Only available as a fountain line, but with a wide range of nibs, the brand’s novel pen is a limited edition of only 512 pieces, the number referencing the year when the first written Arabic document was discovered. Encased in a hand-made wooden box, Montegrappa’s Calligraphy pen comes with a hardback version of the book Arabic Calligraphy: Worlds Made Precious. It retails at INR 450,000 ($6,800).
