Hennessy marks its 250th anniversary with a novel decanter

April 25, 2016: French cognac house, Hennessy, marks its 250th anniversary with an exquisite bottle, designed by renowned artist, Arik Levy.

Hennessy Cognac 250 Years bottle

Having collaborated with Hennessy for years, Mr Levy creates a crystalline carafe that flaunts eight hand-blown Baccarat crystal rings that hint at Hennessy’s eight generations of eaux-de-vie. Truly incorporating raw materials that make premium cognac, Levy places the sparkly decanter in a hand-made, copper-inlayed oak case – with 25 layers of wood, each representing a decade of the label’s past – that creates an impression of constant movement and change.

The batch of only 250 bottles carries the limited-edition Hennessy 8 blend and retails at $40,000.
