October 14, 2020: Preparing the field for the upcoming bridal season, Indian brand JADE by Monica & Karishma have launched ‘Threads of Love’ – a hypnotic bridal collection – yet again highlighting the technique of EkTaar, a painstaking craft form used to create timeless masterpieces for brides to be.

Using the EkTaar technique as the primary craft form, this collection further reinforces the label’s commitment to presenting crafts with contemporary handwriting. EkTaar is one of the oldest, most intricate and laborious techniques in India, which has been deftly handcrafted on airy fabrics like organza, giving birth to couture pieces that are lightweight, ethereal and exquisite in every way.

These carefully envisioned pieces by Monica & Karishma invite the bride to step away from the noise, the chaos, and the clutter, to take her eyes off the big picture and feast her senses on her self, her emotions, and on the elaborate, intricate and exquisite details.

The collection has been realized in pastel shades accentuated with bright shades such as burnt orange and fuchsia. The ethnicity of the design and craft has been merged beautifully with stylish, modern silhouettes.

The JADE x CCDF collaboration sees an integration of artworks from The Gondwana Art Project across different creative expressions. The larger than life, landmark windows of the JADE flagship store at Peddar Road will showcase artworks in an installation by Monica Shah that beautifully juxtaposes the Threads of Love couture collection with breathtaking works from CCDF’s Gondwana Art Project. A series of captivating visuals have also been shot where select pieces from the collection have been placed against the backdrop of these artworks, giving fans and followers of JADE a breathtaking view.
