Louis Vuitton hosts Cruise Collection 2019 runway show
June 1, 2018: Luxury brand Louis Vuitton showcased its Cruise Collection 2019 with recently renewed Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquiere in Cannes. In attendance were celebrities such as Emma Stone, Justin Theroux, and Ruth Negga.
The garments were unconventional marriages of style, referencing the couture of a century ago, harmonized with the present day. The collection was a mixture of 1980s shoulders and triangulated torsos from Mr Ghesquiere’s Fall 2018 collection with 18th-century sleeves and silhouettes. Featured in the collection were about 30 different types of embellishments and patchwork combinations in a collection comprising 59 unique looks.
During the runway show, the House announced its collaboration with Grace Coddington, an iconic writer, illustrator, and fashion editor. For Louis Vuitton, she has created a line of accessories reprising her imaginary menagerie. This exclusive capsule collection will arrive in stores in October 2018.
