Missoni presents a fearless Resort 2020 collection
June 14, 2019: Named ‘Urban Safari’, luxury brand Missoni’s Resort 2020 collection indeed exemplifies the sophisticated, yet curious explorer in us.
The collection is relaxed and free-spirited where silhouettes and fabrics are easy flowing. Familiar Missoni motifs are re-interpreted to create new patterns, combining imagination and experimentation. The iconic codes of the Missoni DNA are updated with exotic influences.
True to the theme of the ‘safari’, the assortment has a tropical mood where zebra motifs, revisited leopard spots, multicolor foliage and the new Missoni artsy camouflage create a kaleidoscopic array of patterns juxtaposed to the brand’s signature bold geometries.
Jacquard mini dresses are worn also as vests on fluid maxi dresses. Shirts take center stage: from the bowling styles shown in a patchwork of different materials to the fitted silhouettes with roomy sleeves and the more classic options punctuated with knitted details. They are paired with high-waisted pants or with the new skirt pants injected with an easy-chic attitude.
Micro aviator jackets crafted from sartorial fabrics introduce a mannish touch, while the classic tuxedo comes in a knitted version enriched with metallic accents.
Sandals have leather laces which wrap around the ankle while mini bags have been developed in collaboration with Iacobella Gaetani. Silk scarves embellish the belts putting the focus on the waist, but also the hats and the bijoux, including metallic chokers and cuffs.
Like talismans, pendants reveal handmade decorations with a tribal spirit, while other metal and enamel good luck charms are embellished with zodiac signs.
