July 12, 2021: Dedicated to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Swiss watchmaker Omega has crafted two unique timepieces in tribute to the epochal sporting event, a gold medal of which is the ultimate prize for any athlete.

The Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, and serving in this role for the 29th time this year in July, Omega is embodied with the precision, excellence and commitment required to stand at the top of the podium at the Olympic Games.

Made in full 18K yellow gold, and offered in 38mm or 41mm sizes, the new Seamaster Aqua Terra watches are striking in their radiant yellow gold cases, symbolising the premium standard in watch and jewellery making, and its brilliant balance between usefulness and purity.

With a distinct polished blue ceramic dial and a laser-engraved pattern inspired by the emblem of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the watches are presented on beautiful blue leather straps. Powered inside by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre, the watch also bears the full emblem on the caseback; with the guarantee of the Swiss industry’s highest standard of performance, precision and magnetic resistance.

And donning this new watch on their wrist is the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, who has a total of 28 Olympic Games medals under his belt, out of which 23 are gold. A member of the Omega brand family since 2004, Mr. Phelps speaks about the importance of time for an athlete: “If you’re an Olympian, or trying to become an Olympian, it’s a 24-hour, 7 day a week job. It’s non-stop. It’s around-the-clock.”

Further talking about the mindset of a medal winner, and what it takes to win one, he says, “To really be prepared for an Olympic Games, you have to put in the work. You have to go through the struggle. For the journey I went five times, it was never easy, but I know the work that I was doing gave me the results that I deserved.”

These limited-edition timepieces are delivered inside a special presentation box, and come with a full 5-year warranty by Omega.
