Sotheby's Fine Jewels auction offers Cartier, Boucheron and 20th century masters
September 6, 2017: Sotheby’s Fine Jewels sale, to be held on September 20, draws on the rich golden hues and seasonal motifs of autumn. The sale offers a range of jewels with an eclectic mix of pieces from classic brands such a Cartier, Bulgari and Boucheron, and notable 20th century designers such as Grima, Pol Bury and Mosheh Oved.
A citrine and diamond bracelet made by Cartier in the 1940s, and estimated at £20,000–30,000 is designed as a flowering vine. The flowers are set with variously-cut citrines, the leaves set with single- and circular-cut diamonds, and highlighted throughout with additional collet-set circular-cut diamonds. A Buccellati brooch, estimated at £2,400–3,800, is modelled as three acorns and oak leaves.
