Sotheby's to showcase highlights from September auction of Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art
August 30, 2016: International auction house, Sotheby’s, will showcase highlights of its London auction of Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art September 3-4, 2016 at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Hotel. This sale, taking place on October 18, 2016, will feature never-before-seen European and American works.
Works such as Francis Newton Souza’s Deposition of Christ and Ganesh Pyne’s Under the Fountain will be on display for sale. The exhibition forms part of an extensive program of exhibitions and events in Mumbai, which includes the launch of a three-day Course on International Contemporary Art organized in collaboration with Sotheby’s Institute.
