Historically associated with the legendary actor Steve McQueen, the new Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph is ready to take on the race.
August 1, 2023: Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer proudly showcases its knack for creating the sportiest and most timeless watches with its latest creation, TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue Limited Edition.
The latest chronograph draws inspiration from the motorsport universe and features a brilliant blue shade. In the early days of motor racing, automobiles were distinguishable by their national colors. Each nation had its own distinctive color, including the well-known British racing green, the vivid Italian red, and the striking shade of blue associated with the French. The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue, TAG Heuer's newest design, is inspired by that specific hue of blue.
The latest model is powered by the Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement, encased within a sandblasted grade 2 titanium casing, giving both robustness and lightness to it, and featuring a sapphire case-back, allowing a glimpse into the movement inside. The magnificent silvered sunray brushed dial of the watch evokes images of the engine-turned dashboard used in sports vehicles throughout the 1920s and 1930s.
The timepiece is limited to 1000 pieces and features a blue calfskin strap with perforations. The hour and minute hands are highlighted with blue Super-LumiNova. A titanium folding clasp with the etched Heuer emblem fastens the strap, while the words “One of 1000” is inscribed on the case back of the Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue.
The best part of the watch is that it embodies the rush of adrenaline and the spirit of race that seems beyond our reach. Here’s a glimpse of its glorious past. The Monaco collection was first launched in 1969. Encapsulating the power and energy of a race, it featured the first square-cased water-resistant chronograph which housed the revolutionary Calibre 11 movement.
The timepiece will be available in TAG Heuer boutiques, on the brand’s e-commerce websites, and at select retail partners.
