February 4, 2020: Migrations, an Indian travel company, has launched their Inaugural Journey, a luxury cruise to the world's largest protected Mangrove Forest, The Sundarbans, departing on February 26, 2021.
Inspired by the few pristine environments left in today’s world, Migrations aims to create immersive, sustainable and luxurious journeys with the goal of conservation through tourism. The company focuses on slow travel experiences, in environments where luxury travel has never existed before.

One of India’s most pristine and fascinating environments is the Sundarbans, a labyrinth of crisscrossing waterways that are home to an incredible amount of biodiversity, and hence recognized by UNESCO.
The immersive 4 four-day experience in the Sundarbans by Migrations is designed to get beneath the surface of the land, exploring not just the wilderness, but connecting with its people and the extraordinary lives they lead in this beautiful yet raw landscape. From a chance of spotting the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, to interacting with some of India’s foremost conservationists, guests onboard will leave with memories of a lifetime, and the knowledge that their journey is contributing to the long- term conservation of this fragile ecosystem.
Mrs. Loveleen Arun Multani, Co- Founder of Migrations, says, “Some places pull you towards themselves and then change you forever! That happened to me last month when I was in the Sundarbans. As I cruised slowly through the creeks, I fell in love with every aspect of it; the mysterious mangroves, the elusive wildlife, the sunsets, the misty mornings, the genteel people who obviously lived a tough life fighting against the vagaries of nature. And I wondered how to open it up for sensitive, mindful travelers who would love this pristine bastion of India. From that thought at the core of which lies an inherent need to give back to the fragile destination has risen this passion project with the steadfast help of friends in the industry. A culmination of an innate desire to bring a very simplistic and yet enigmatic experience alive for whoever would value it.”
Ensuring luxury accommodation, Migrations has partnered with Antara Luxury River Cruises for this journey, to host travellers on board the Ganges Voyager I. Besides the lavish facilities on-board, which includes the ‘all-suite’ offering, French balconies, expansive social spaces, plush-on-board amenities, unique gastronomy experiences, wellness, sunrise yoga, butler service, expert led on-board and off-board activities; customization and personalization is part of the key offerings to guests. “Antara, derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Antar’ meaning ‘the distinction’, has been the source of inspiration for us to make a difference and take our guests on a journey to not just rediscover themselves but also discover parts of the country that have previously been inaccessible,” says Hemant Mediratta, COO & Founder Antara Cruises.
Mr. Keshav Arya, Co-Founder of Migrations is a second-generation travel entrepreneur, with a passion for wildlife exploration, diving, and all things luxury. He says, “In a world where travel has been democratized, rare experiences are exceedingly hard to come across, and Migrations creates precisely these moments, while still giving guests every creature comfort they can dream of.”
He further adds, “The Sundarbans have been a place that have fascinated me since I was a schoolboy and we were told tales of its famous man eaters. While the thought of coming face to face with the Royal Bengal Tiger still excites me, what I really hope for is to create sustainable luxury tourism in the area, that supports local livelihoods, and brings in a new relationship between man and cat.”
