November 18, 2014: Patine, the heritage revivalist label, is all set to launch its second store in Mumbai in South Bombay at Kemps Corner, serving as an ideal location as it is a stone throw away from its clientele.
The minimalist design of the new 300sq ft store allows for the abundance of embroidery and extravagance of the clothes to envelop the space and tell their own story. Ready to wear, festive or bridal couture collections, its designs always have a feel of royal luxury. With the festive and bridal wear taking days of hand work, each motif and pattern at Patine is extensively researched, refined and adapted for the modern woman.
The Fall Winter 2014/15 collection of Patine has two arms: Contemporary and Heritage. The Contemporary collection has a feel of the Edwardian flapper era while retaining a youthful edge that feels seductive and elegant. The collection emphasizes the pairing of the soft with the strong. The black cape manteau, a signature of Patine, comes in a variety of silhouettes. The collection comes full circle with culottes and fishtail skirts reminiscent of the flapper era. Thread zardozi and ghara cut, velvet applique and gota accents add unique flair to the Contemporary collection.
The Heritage collection is reminiscent of a period ballad. Shaded French chiffons are layered with fine heritage embroideries and artisanal accents. The ghagra skirt, a core piece in the collection, is updated and layered with a wrap to break tradition. Mughal jackets with majestic embellishments are designed to be layered with a wide range of separates. The Patine drape or saree is timeless and wraps up the collection with splendour and style. Parsi ghara, zari marori borders chikankari, zardozi, badla, mukesh and gota accents ensure you get that royal feeling.
