June 19, 2012: The renowned leather goods brand, Furla, has now sets its eyes on India. Currently distributing to 63 countries, the company has a widespread distribution network with collections present in over 1000 sales outlets and 319 single brand boutiques, 145 of which are fully owned by the company and 174 are franchised. There are 5 subsidiaries which are in the USA, France, Japan, Hong Kong and Korea.
Following the latest monobrand openings in Rome, Paris, London, Munich, Hong Kong and Beijing, Furla is now opening a flagship boutique opening in the Palladium Mall, Mumbai this autumn.
Furla will also be introducing its Papermoon collection during the occasion. The trunks and the shopping bags of this line play with net, clean and geometric cuts. Simple and functional, they're customized with the Furla lock, which can be also used as a safety lock for the zipper pull. Particularly important are the materials, just like the new watercolour crocodile/cocco acquerello, characterized by the handmade dyes, which fade and mix into different colours. The bags get super-light when made in unlined calf/vitello sfoderato. This material plays with color contrasts between the inside and the outside, and between the edges and the colour of the bag.
