IWC Schaffhausen introduces three new special timepieces

IWC Schaffhausen Ingeniur Caracciola watch

March 29, 2016: Swiss fine watchmaker, IWC Schaffhausen, has unveiled three limited editions to commemorate the 74th Goodwood members’ meeting.

Part of the brand’s Ingenieur list, the three exquisite lines debut the new in-house 69370 caliber. Vintage in appearance yet modern in manufacture, the models build on the maison’s dedication to technological mastery.

To match the lifespan of the iconic motorsport event, IWC manufactured 74 exquisite Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “74th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood.” Hooked on a brown calfskin strap, the watches strike with a 42mm, solid red gold case, hugging a black dial. Featuring two totalizers, small seconds and tachymeter scale, the dial evokes a sports car’s dashboard.

The Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “Rudolf Caracciola” pays tribute to eponymous racing driver. With a stainless-steel case, a slate-colored dial and rhodium-plated hands, the watch fuses machinery with elegance – the two prime aspects of Caracciola’s stellar career in the 1930s.

IWC took another leap at the same fast years with its Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “W 125.” With titanium case, silver-plated dial and inky black hands and appliques, the W 125 quotes the Mercedes-Benz W 125 Silver Arrow, which dominated the early 20th- century competitions.

Both Ingenieur Chronograph Editions “Rudolf Caracciola” and “W 125” boast 750 pieces, each.
