August 23, 2018: Jewelry from the estate of two-time Olympic Gold medalist, Katherine Domyan, will go under the hammer at Bonhams New York this September. More than 60 pieces of jewelry dating from the 1970s to the early 2000s form part of the collection, which were purchased by Ms. Domyan and her husband throughout their 56-year marriage as they travelled between New York, Beverly Hills, Paris and the South of France.
Notable pieces from the world's most famous jewelry houses including Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels and David Webb feature in the collection which, in total, is estimated at between $2,100,000 and $3,150,000.
In total, 36 lots will be offered in the auction including a carved rock crystal chimera bangle estimated at $60,000-$80,000 and an emerald and diamond necklace estimated at $80,000-$120,000.
A number of impressive pieces by Harry Winston include a 23.13ct emerald cut diamond ring estimated at $250,000-$350,000; an 86.83ct diamond fringe necklace estimated at $350,000-$550,000; a 66.20ct diamond fringe necklace estimated at $250,000-$350,000 and a pair of diamond cluster earrings estimated at $150,000-$250,000.
The sale will take place at Bonhams New York on September 21, 2018 after previews at Bonhams Los Angeles (5-10 September), Bonhams Geneva (11-12 September) and Bonhams New York (16-20 September).
