August 7, 2015: Fendi made its Couture Fashion Week debut with its first haute fourrure collection in the house’s 90-year history showcasing a range of creations that included coats, stoles and capes with feather and floral appliques and trippy trousers that came in gold leather and bore swirled, psychedelic prints.
The show celebrated Karl Lagerfeld’s 50 year collaboration with Fendi, the longest relationship in the fashion world between a designer and a fashion house.
Started as a fur and bag shop in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld continued the tradition elegantly when he joined the brand in 1965. Fendi’s fur working techniques are now more than ever considered as a highly skilled craftsmanship, being the only fashion brand to have an in house Fur atelier and a benchmark for the sector in the entire world.
