Since its introduction to the US market in May 2021, 818 Tequila has quickly risen to prominence as a top selling tequila. The brand is celebrated for its exceptionally smooth taste, which comes from its 100% Weber Blue Agave base, and its versatility in various cocktails and sipping experiences.

The Indian market saw its first taste of 818 Tequila in May 2024, with Berry Beverages and Zoup Beverages handling its distribution and import. Initially available in the Delhi NCR region, the tequila’s popularity has paved the way for its expansion into Mumbai.

This launch is part of a strategic effort to cement 818 Tequila’s status as a leading choice among Indian consumers. Known for its upscale venues and vibrant social life, Mumbai is an ideal setting for 818 Tequila’s arrival. The tequila can be enjoyed at The St. Regis Mumbai and Slink & Bardot among other locations. The 8 Reserve will also be available in Mumbai and other Indian cities.

The brand is dedicated to sustainability and social responsibility. It employs environmentally friendly production methods, including water and energy conservation practices, and supports local communities through various initiatives.

Named after the Calabasas, California area code, 818 Tequila’s distillery operates on biomass and solar energy, uses recycled glass for its bottles, and ensures that its packaging is Forest Stewardship Council certified. Additionally, 818 collaborates with s.a.c.r.e.d. (Saving Agave for Culture, Recreation, Education, and Development) to transform tequila production byproducts into building materials, supporting community projects throughout Mexico.

818 Tequila’s unique flavor profile is crafted through traditional methods at a cutting-edge distillery in Amatitán, Mexico. The process involves slow-cooking agaves for more than 30 hours, then crushing them with massive stone Tahona wheels. This is followed by a 48-hour natural fermentation. The agaves are then distilled twice using alembic copper pot stills and aged in a blend of French and American oak barrels.

As the brand continues to expand across India, it aims to enchant a growing audience and solidify its position as a premier tequila choice.
