Exuding opulence, the latest furniture collection by Khenshu, an Indian luxury design house, brings together European inspiration and traditional Indian craftsmanship. The Rose Quartz Collection is a masterful blend of Rococo and Neoclassicism, two very distinct styles of art, decoration and architecture, that grew when Louis XV and Louis XVI ruled France. The Rose Quartz, a beautiful pink semi-precious stone that is said to open and heal the heart chakra, decorates every furniture piece in this ensemble.
Made out of old building teak, the furniture is pasted on with silver sheets that are weathered through seasons and made durable. Reminiscent of royalty, the collection comprises mirrors, sofas, bookends, chaise loungers, table-lamps and consoles. Carefully crafted over six months, skilled Indian artisans have used age-old techniques to create this stellar assortment.
Aishwarya Reddy, the Founder and Creative Director of Khenshu, shares, “India has an abundance of heritage and craftsmanship to offer and it is our responsibility to support this. We are rebuilding a community of forgotten Indian artisans who’ve worked in palaces; and are reviving their crafts and highlighting and bringing forward their expertise.”
Khenshu was founded in November 2019 with a vision of preserving forgotten art forms and the intricate handiwork behind them. The Bangalore-based brand brings traditional grandeur from the rich architectural past to fit into minimalist or luxurious modern settings.
