June 7, 2016: Propelled by its own 20th-century legacy in perfume, Louis Vuitton announces its reentry into the fragrance market with Les Parfums Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton’s olfactory atelier within Les Fontaines Parfumees is located in scenic and scented Grasse, the perfume capital of the luxury world, and headed by third-generation perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud.
As the first Louis Vuitton fragrance in almost 50 years, this novel addition will combine subtle notes of leather – the same light beige material that wraps around the brand’s handbags and trunks – and the exquisite aromas of May rose and jasmine, preserved fresh and rich by an innovative CO2-extraction technology. A slew of other exclusive flowers – collected in Mr. Belletrud’s travels around the globe – will add the final touches to Les Parfums.
Les Parfums, which has been in the making for four years, arrives on shelves in September 2016.
