May 29, 2012: Lladró creations have always been inspired by dreams and fantasy, traditions, literature and art, nature or daily life. This time too, they launch some creations which intend to bring peace and good luck upon the keeper.
The Guardian Lioness, available in blue and red colour, will bring good luck, protection and happiness. The inspiration here are the traditional bronze, iron and granite sculptures standing guard at the entrances to palaces, temples and noble houses in various Asian countries. The painstaking ornamentation of the breastplates and armor, elaborates the modeling of the mane and tail, plus the spectacular decoration with enamel, golden luster and varnishes, make the sculptures impressive.
In the Bacchante on a Panther, the bacchante irradiates light and clarity, which is quite characteristic of Lladro, while the feline is pure energy, power and strength. The harmonious combination of matte white porcelain with the painstaking technique of glazes creates a profusion of finishes.
The Auspicious Dragon is depicted as a long-bodied, twisted creature, showing graceful yet agile movements. It’s shown grasping the pearl of success which is the most powerful and potent symbol in Feng Shui. It appears on a cloud because, according to the Feng Shui, its position has to be higher than the Tiger.
