August 7, 2015: Louis Vuitton has launched the Nano collection, which revisits the brand’s iconic bags and presents them in an of-the-moment, micro-edition. Seven heritage handbags – the Speedy, Alma, Lockit, Noé, Pallas, Turenne and W – now offer a fashion-forward and practical way to travel lightly and carry nothing more than the bare essentials.
A perfect expression in miniature, each Nano handbag reprises the exact shape, construction, materials and stitching of its original, classic version. Instantly recognizable and deceptively simple, these scaled down icons are the result of an elaborate creative process that required the Maison’s craftsman to reconsider and reconstruct each style.
The Nano collection is made in the Maison’s signature Monogram canvas for the Nano Speedy, Turenne, Pallas and Noé styles, in Magnolia cashmere calfskin for the Nano W and Lockit, and in Épi leather for the Alma, whose bright poppy red summer iteration will be followed in September by two further season-specific colors. All Nano bags feature a long strap to enable easy shoulder or crossbody carry.
