Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall Winter 2025 channels the romance of travel

From structured tailoring to fluid silhouettes, the collection continues the theme of travel that the French brand so loves.

Even after been at the helm of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear department for more than 10 years, creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere manages to give a new, surprising interpretation to the brand’s love for travel. Its Fall-winter 2025 collection was no exception.

Presented at L’Étoile du Nord, a hidden train station transformed into a portal to romance, the collection captured the bittersweet essence of departure and the warmth of reunion.

Flowing silhouettes and sharp tailoring mirrored the fleeting nature of travel, while a color palette balanced wistful nostalgia with the thrill of new horizons. Trousers and maxi dresses took center stage, emphasizing effortless movement and sophistication.

In his show notes, Ms. Ghesquière revealed that his inspiration stemmed from station platforms and the travelers passing through them, each on their own journey of departures and arrivals. Naturally, he also drew from the House’s heritage as a pioneering luggage maker.

The House’s legendary luggage also played a pivotal role, with the Keepall reimagined as L’Express—a softer, more refined evolution of the iconic travel bag, reaffirming Louis Vuitton’s legacy as the ultimate companion for the journey.

A striking collaboration with Kraftwerk infused the space with their electrifying rhythm. The pioneering electro group’s album Trans-Europe Express became both a visual and conceptual motif, with its cover emblazoned on select pieces, reinforcing the collection’s futuristic-meets-historic essence.

“Impatience with the ticking of the clock. At the end of the same platform is the hopefulness of love or the melancholy of separation. The enthusiasm of departure or the comfort of return. The euphoria of discovery,” Ghesquière said, expanding on his inspiration.

Other standout pieces included leather Bermuda shorts with circular cargo pockets, oversized striped jumpsuits, scarf-tied shirts, and abstract neon prints.

Slinky dresses blended bohemian ease with old-world glamour, accessorized with hat trunks and sculptural pillbox toppers.

Giant cape coats made a bold statement, cinched with chunky LV monogram belt bags. Tiered skirts were paired with form-fitting uppers. Textures ranged from ethereal and delicate to rich and opulent, think fur, velvet, and exquisite silks.
