Revealed in two chapters, Louis Vuitton’s fifth high jewelry collection showcases its unique work of jewelry art, impeccable attention to detail, and exquisite craftsmanship. This enviable array of jewelry by Louis Vuitton and the earth’s buried gemstones, which represent the evolution of our planet, seemingly coming together, and are, in fact, intricately linked.
With more than 170 unique pieces, this is the largest high jewelry collection of Louis Vuitton, according to Francesca Amfitheatrof, artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s watches and jewelry. Her stylized vision of geologic time and life is clear in the impressive, time-honored assortment, which has two chapters: geology and life.
Bringing a new vision to these stones, Ms. Francesca says, “At Louis Vuitton, we are as ever adventurers, traveling to extraordinary, unexpected places. Deep Time will transport you deeply into the past, to a time and place that are so remote and perhaps even difficult to comprehend. But at the same time, the stones—these treasures that span millennia—will bring you right there, to the beginning of the planet and into a history of the world and its mystical geological legacy.”
The first chapter, Geology, beautifully captures the presence of volcanoes in a high collar necklace studded with mandarins, garnets, and pink tourmalines. A subtle and surprising combination of white gold and whimsical ripples with diamonds symbolizing origin finds its way to the second chapter of the collection.
This alluring universe of jewels includes a bib-style necklace with Paraiba tourmaline and 91.74 carats of emeralds, a cocktail ring set with a 7.67-carat pigeon-blood Mozambique ruby, and a seven-row platinum necklace set with 270 diamonds.
Unveiled in Greece, the collection, Deep Time, is in perfect harmony with time and treasures found in the heart of the earth, where artisanship and nature unite to form one.
