MB&F brings its rare timepieces to Silicon Valley with a new boutique

The hub, brought in partnership with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, is located at The Villa Menlo Park.

Officially opening its first MB&F LAB boutique, Swiss watchmaker MB&F enters Silicon Valley at The Villa Menlo Park, where it will offer avant-garde timepieces and conceptual creations by the legendary watchmaker. This also marks the brand’s 20th anniversary. The MB&F LAB Silicon Valley boutique, presented in partnership with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, opened its doors at 500 El Camino Real.

From complex timepieces to conceptual desk clocks and mechanical sculptures, the boutique houses rare objects that push the boundaries of watchmaking and art. It will also notably offer a limited edition of the Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO, an 18-piece Silicon Valley LAB exclusively developed with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, one of the brand’s longtime retail partners.

Jared Silver shared, “From the beginning, it was clear that this radical, forward-thinking independent brand, MB&F, belonged in the most innovative part of the world – Silicon Valley – and at The Villa Menlo Park. The company’s ethos shines through in every single creation, and their emphasis on collaboration and appetite for risk are valued greatly here in Silicon Valley.”

The intimate ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser, Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry president Jared Silver, along with collectors and friends, was a celebration of the 20 years of MB&F’s daring designs.

For two decades, the brand has shaken up the global watch industry with its audacious creativity and visionary concepts. This partnership between MB&F and Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry began in 2015, with the two companies discussing a collaboration that would bring MB&F’s extraordinary creations to Silicon Valley. Since then, Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry has become a key player in introducing independent watchmakers to the region.

The Villa Menlo Park, where the boutique is located, is a mixed-use development created by the Silver family, designed to be a new cultural center for the Silicon Valley community. The MB&F LAB Silicon Valley is the first mono-brand retail store to open in the development, occupying the first level of the building.

Maximilian Büsser said, “This is the fifth MB&F LAB in the world after Paris, Singapore, Taipei, and Los Angeles: a testament to how important Silicon Valley collectors have become for our brand. On one hand, there is a natural symbiosis between this part of the world, so driven by technology and innovation, and our out-of-the-box thinking and highly complex engineering. I think that connection resonates even deeper thanks to something more unexpected: the traditional, hand-finished artisanship that we put into our watchmaking, offering a welcome dose of humanity in the very high-tech universe of Silicon Valley.”

With its elevated indoor-outdoor space spanning three floors, The Villa Menlo Park presents a range of experiences that include retail stores, restaurants, and communal events – including a new Cal-Indian dining concept Eylan by Michelin-acclaimed Chef Srijith Gopinathan and restaurateur Ayesha Thapar.

The MB&F LAB boutique will be open to the public Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with both walk-in and private appointment options available.
