Michael Kors and Fujifilm announce new collaboration

Michael Kors Scout bagSeptember 23, 2016: Michael Kors and FUJIFILM have announced a new collaboration, the photography brand’s first-ever fashion partnership, that captures the creativity of both the worlds with the launch of the Michael Kors x FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 70 instant film camera.

The new camera comes in gold metallic color that replicates the jet-set Michael Kors aesthetic. The brand logo is printed on the front of the case body, and to make it even more special, the designer’s signature is showcased in the same gold hue on the camera door.

The INSTAX Mini 70 features a sleek design, special selfie mode and high-performance flash that automatically calculates surrounding brightness and adjusts shutter speeds accordingly. As an added bonus, the camera has a smart selfie mode that automatically adjusts settings to capture picture-perfect selfies. Simply check your framing with the front-facing mirror next to the lens, and snap.

The collaboration was inspired by Michael Kors’ Scout handbag collection which emulates vintage camera bags. The initial intent behind the Scout was to bring the retro style back to life with a modern functionality. A partnership with FUJIFILM was the organic next step.

Crafted from smooth leather, the Scout features multiple compartments and a crossbody shape, and comes in a variety of colors with the option of adding interchangeable studded guitar straps for easy carrying. Other add-on items created by Michael Kors to use with the camera and bag include an INSTAX photo scrapbook, leather INSTAX photo keychain and a gold-tone chain camera strap for the camera itself.

The Michael Kors x FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 70 camera was unveiled globally on September 21 at Photokina 2016, the world’s largest and most important trade fair for the photographic and imaging industries held biennially in Cologne, Germany. The camera will be conveniently sold as a bundle, including ready-to-use film, and will be available through the Holiday 2016 season.
