September 3, 2020: In an initiative to encourage voters to register and participate in the upcoming 2020 American presidential elections, Michael Kors has launched an exclusive campaign titled ‘Your Voice Matters’. For the campaign, Michael Kors will be releasing a special MICHAEL Michael Kors T-shirt and a Michael Kors Collection sweater. These will benefit the major American legal organization, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), fighting for racial justice.
Exclusive to the United States, the T-shirt and sweater emphasise the campaign’s message: that no matter who you are, your voice, and your vote, can make a difference. The MICHAEL Michael Kors t-shirt comes at a retail price of $40, with the phrase “YOUR VOICE MATTERS” on the front and “VOTE” on the back. The Michael Kors Collection cashmere intarsia sweater, simply features “VOTE” and is priced at $850. All the profits from the sale of these special pieces will go to LDF. Michael Kors has partnered with Black-owned business FKSP, operated by African American fashion designer Folake Kuye Huntoon, to produce the t-shirts for the campaign. They will be manufactured in the FKSP factory in the Los Angeles fashion district.
“Our greatest right and privilege as Americans is the right to have our voices heard,” says Michael Kors. “Voting is the ultimate way to make sure that your voice is not lost. These T-shirts and sweaters are a reminder for all Americans to vote and not let their voices be extinguished. It’s also an opportunity to raise money for legal and social justice.”
Making a strong political statement in hopes to better the future of America, specially amidst the current tumultous time, the campaign will be showcased across online and offline platforms through the Fall season. The store windows at the Michael Kors Rockefeller Center Flagship Store will be specially designed for the initiative in the first week of September.
