December 14, 2015: Talk about putting your heart on your sleeve. If you can afford a Montegrappa watch, you might as well announce it, in a very apparent way! Montegrappa has launched the Ca$h watch.
Ca$h – Montegrappa’s wry look at ‘Bling-Bling’ culture – arrived last year with the Ca$h Pen and matching cufflinks. These in-your-face accessories found resonance in this era of devil-may-care, if-you’ve-got-it-flaunt-it excess. Now adding another touch of glitz, the Ca$h watch has been introduced in the collection. The ‘$’ fills the dial below the Montegrappa logo, the emblem highlighted by 50 transparent rhinestones measuring 1mm each.
The Ca$h timepiece measures 42mm in diameter. But it doesn’t scream on the wrist – it’s as discreet as the money clip in your pocket. It is offered in a selection of colour combinations, the case available in natural stainless steel, finished with black PVD or in rose gold PVD, with sandblasted black dials for the steel and black editions, or sandblasted black or silver dials for the rose gold option.
Fitted with crocodile-patterned leather straps in black or brown, the watches contain Swiss-made quartz movement. The dials display the time and date with bold indices, accompanied by dots in the minute tracks. The sweep seconds, hours and minutes hands are finished to match the case. The Ca$h watch is secure against water ingress to 50 meters.
