August 21, 2020: Curated by Arjun Sawnhey, managing director of The Communication Council & Green Goose Design, a new virtual art show is a first-of-its-kind creative partnership between India’s two very distinguished art galleries: Nature Morte and Vadehra Art Gallery. The month-long exhibit is being organised from August 20 to September 20, 2020.
Titled ‘Future Is Not Fixed’, it is a series of artworks that depict the uncertainty of our future and the anxiety that comes with it. Reflecting the unfamiliar inner and outer worlds, the sense of isolation and the besmirched notions of the past and the future have ignited the artworks in this exhibit. Mr. Sawnhey comments in his curatorial note, “This show is an attempt to illustrate these feelings as we live through this point in history. This is the reality of today and this is the truth. The future is not fixed. Not at all anymore.”
The presentation displays excellent pieces of art from 24 prominent artists including Bharti Kher, Subodh Gupta, Thukral & Tagra, Dhruvi Acharya, Anju Dodiya, Gigi Scaria, Jitish Kallat, Riyas Komu and many more. These works display themes of fear, loneliness and spiritual connection in times like these to mythological influences and personal experiences, to name a few.
The exhibit can be viewed online at NatureMorte.com and VadehraArt.com.
