Radisson Hotel Group has officially entered the Armenian market with the opening of Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri, marking the brand’s first property in the country. The hotel, positioned in Gyumri’s historic center, comes with Radisson’s signature design and amenities, but it’s true challenge will be establishing itself in an evolving market.
With 64 rooms reflecting Radisson’s Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, the hotel is designed to cater to modern travelers. Its location near the city’s main square offers strategic access to key cultural and business areas. Gyumri is the second largest city in Armenia, and is said to be the country’s cultural capital.

One of the hotel’s strongest assets is its link to the Alexandra Spa Center, a historic wellness facility dating back to the late 19th century. The spa, well-regarded across the Caucasus, features saunas, hammams, pools, and expert wellness services. Radisson guests get complimentary access to this stunning spa. This adds an element of cultural significance to the otherwise contemporary property.
Radisson’s expansion in Armenia follows the success of its Yerevan property, Radisson Blu Hotel, which opened in 2016. With the Gyumri launch, the brand now has 17 hotels in operation or development across the Caucasus and Central Asia. However, entering a smaller market like Gyumri, where independent and boutique hotels are prominent, may present a challenge for the international chain.
