The French fashion house couldn’t be more iconic, epitomizing the essence of style and sophistication. Yet again, the spirit of travel prevails in the assortment. This time, Louis Vuitton went across continents to capture the essence of the American West. Creative director Pharell Williams successfully brought a refreshing take while staying true to the maison’s heritage.
The brand teamed up with artists from the Dakota and Lakota nations, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s Dee Jay Two Bears for this show. The efforts were quite evident as one after another eye-catching ensembles were explored at the scenic Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris.
The entire collection draws inspiration from cowboy iconography. Denim features intricate pearl-and-sequin floral embroideries or Western floral motifs, while chaps showcase fringed leather and studs.
Leather pieces mimic saddle embossing and plaid merges with Damier in a red and black Buffalo Check. Original cowboy paintings transform into jacquard tapestry on coats, embodying a weathered prairie aesthetic.
The Louis Vuitton dandy dresses up in suits chain-stitched with cacti, hand-embroidered vaquero jackets, and suits with pinstripes or Damier chequers embellished with pearls, metal-studding, or turquoise.
The iconic Speedy bag sees new colors, including turquoise blue, and shapes, while the Steamer comes in three sizes. The Damoflage pattern evolves in orange tones, and a bovine Cowmooflage Canvas makes its debut. Cowboy-inspired necklaces as well as rings and earrings, and lasso brooches designed with enamel and zircons also shined bright in the show.
