Not many may know, but the people behind the well-known Dilmah Ceylon Tea also own Resplendent Ceylon, a group of boutique resorts in Sri Lanka, that epitomize the island’s culture and warm hospitality. Resplendent Ceylon has now created a new brand Reverie, a curated collection of blissful boutique properties, which embrace the sultry and serene lifestyle of the island.
Born out of the same family and concept, Reverie will reflect the same core brand values as Resplendent. Furthermore, it intends to focus on smaller, more intimate properties across Sri Lanka.
To offer the most rustic yet lavish experience to the travellers, Reverie is launching with two properties: Kayaam House in Tangalle, and Ahu Bay in Ahungalla. These openings will closely be followed by a third property, Kelburne Estate, set to open in December 2023.
Nestled away on Ahungalla Point between two secluded bays on the south-west coast is Ahu Bay, a peaceful bright beach house for free-spirits. The resort consists of four suites and three three-bedroom beach villas, available either on a rent-by-the-room or exclusive use basis. Immersing the guests into Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, its casual all-day dining venue will serve Sri Lankan and international favourites, surrounded by manicured lawns, beach cabanas, a Sanctuary Spa and a shimmering infinity swimming pool.
Set on a secluded spot on the south coast in Tangalle, encircled by the waters of Indian Ocean, Kayaam House is home to six Ocean Rooms, two Palm Suites and a chic, Bawa inspired 20-cover restaurant and bar. The Sanctuary Spa will feature a treatment room with therapies based on traditional healing methods utilizing hyperlocal herbs and spices.
The properties will be located just two hours apart, along the south coast of Sri Lanka, which is famed for its miles of golden sand and palm-fringed coastlines, abundance of marine life and ocean-washed shores.
