September 1, 2020: Rolex has unveiled stellar new iterations in the Oyster Perpetual Collection, including Oyster Perpetual Submariner, Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date, Oyster Perpetual Datejust, Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller and Oyster Perpetual 41.
The Oyster Perpetual Submariner and Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date, professional divers’ watches, have been redesigned with a new 41 mm case and equipped with calibre 3230 and calibre 3235 respectively. The new Submariner – in Oystersteel – has a black dial and matching Cerachrom bezel insert. The first version of the Submariner Date is also made of Oystersteel with a black dial and green bezel insert. A second, yellow Rolesor version of the watch (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold) has a royal blue dial and blue bezel insert. The third, 18 ct white gold version features a black dial and blue bezel insert.
The new Oyster Perpetual Datejust edition watches are fitted with calibre 2236 and have a power reserve of 55 hours. The sunray-finish aubergine dial flaunts 18 ct white gold Roman numerals – with the VI set with 11 diamonds. Three other versions in fluted bezel are available in mint-green sunray finish dial, white lacquer dial and dark grey sunray finish dial.
Oyster Perpetual 41 and Oyster Perpetual 36 are two new models to the range and both are equipped with calibre 3230. The Oyster Perpetual 41 comes in silver, sunray-finish dial and a bright black, sunray-finish dial. The first version’s hour markers and hands come in 18 ct yellow gold while the second one is in 18 ct white gold. The Oyster Perpetual 36 flaunts a vibrant look with lacquer dials in five bright hues: candy pink, turquoise blue, yellow, coral red and green. These watches are fitted with an Oyster bracelet and an Oysterclasp with the Easylink comfort extension system – a first for the Oyster Perpetual range. The Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, enables a power reserve of 70 hours.
The Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller is the first watch in the Classic category to boast a Rolex patented Oysterflex bracelet. Equipped with one of the most complex movements developed and manufactured by the watchmaker, calibre 9001, the watch has a power reserve of 72 hours. The 18 ct yellow gold version comes in bright black, sunray-finish dial and high-performance elastomer bracelet with an Oysterclasp and the Rolex Glidelock extension system for wrist comfort.
These new novelties from Rolex carry the Superlative Chronometer Certification, satisfying all performance criteria exceeding watchmaking norms and standards in terms of precision, water-proofness, self-winding and power reserve.
