Blending modern design and luxurious materials, home design brand Sarita Handa has opened its sixth store, transforming a former house into a carefully-curated boutique store. The store, located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, cements the brand’s reputation as a fast-growing Indian luxury brand.
Sarita Handa, Founder and Creative Director of the brand, says, “Hyderabad is a city that has always inspired us, because of its architectural heritage and rich history of craftsmanship and now an IT hub. We just knew we had to have a presence in this state, as this is something that the brand truly represents and resonates with.”
Spread across 5,000 square feet, the store is designed to inspire through the seamless display of every product category. It has a modern-classic aesthetic to reflect the ethos of the house of Sarita Handa, while keeping the architectural sensibilities of Hyderabad in mind.
Inspired from Charminar’s Indo-Islamic architecture, the store flaunts enhanced arched entryways that feature delicate flute details. A statuesque double-height glass façade leads into the entry foyer where a majestic marble monolith front desk stands out with its arch details. It is flanked by a majestic Charminar artwork that pays homage to the city of Nizams. Created by artist Mansinghka, this visual tapestry has been made using fabric scraps, sending out a powerful message about preserving, conserving and nurturing – the craft, the heritage and the planet.
Imbued with a visually rich narrative that flows seamlessly through the varied room, each space tells a different story. The spaces are conceptualized as bedrooms, living areas and dining rooms for an immersive experience, luxuriantly furnished with a delightful plenitude of sofas, side tables, art objects, rugs and shelves adorned with Sarita Handa’s unmatchable cushions—effectively express and interpret the signature Sarita Handa style. New juxtapositions of colours, shapes, textures and finishes that mirror the artisanal approach of the brand are expressed across a sumptuous range of furnishings, precious objets d’art, furniture and décor collectables.
