November 17, 2020: Italian luxury fashion brand Serapian Milano recreated the vintage experience of Lancia Dilambda Cabriolet BS car with its bespoke Mosaico Craft on the request of Filipino Sole, the Italian vintage cars collector. Giovanni Nodari Serapian, a third-generation member of the Serapian family, personally led the master artisans to re-create the seats of this unique vehicle.
The Lancia Dilambda Cabriolet Carlton BS was specially designed and produced in 1930 for the British Colonel Lieutenant Sir Bernard Montgomery Hall, a true eccentric, who personalized every single detail. Assumingly lost in 1949, it eventually reappeared thanks to Filippo Sole, who reached out to Serapian Milano.
This project took more than one year to be completed with a set of two bags, a weekender and a folio, matching the car perfectly. Mosaic craft is an unique weaving process created in 1947 by the founder Stefano Serapian, becoming the core value of the maison.
The vintage car was unveiled to the public from October 22nd to the 25th, during the 1000 Miglia 2020, the 38th edition of the historical re-enactment of the race held from 1927 to 1957 in Italy, when the participants had to drive from Brescia to Rome and back. The 1000 Miglia event gathers the most important collectors and connoisseurs from all over the world.
