Indian designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil have launched their fourth store at the luxe mall DLF Emporio, New Delhi.
2010 was a significant year for them as they celebrated their 10th year. The vision of the designers is to take the brand forward to become a conglomerate of multiple design products. Their unique understanding of Indian heritage craftsmanship on a backdrop of strong contemporary western sensibilities sets them apart. The Shantanu & Nikhil accessories line was also launched and 2011 will see the introduction of S&N Drape – their next brand extension, a bridge line.
The distinct architecture of their DLF Emporio store stands out. Horizontal wooden strip cladding and curved new-age shapes dominate the store. Designed by Martand Khosla, the focus is on fluidity of surfaces flowing from the curved walls to the floor and to the ceiling from which there are suspended wall forms. The new collection oozing the signature style of the label hang in alcoves with carefully positioned lights highlighting their electric verve.
Nature meets space in this store highlighted by the contrast of natural materials, textures, and lighting with contemporary architecture. It is a great ambience to enjoy stunning couture creations, beautiful evening gowns, and cocktail dresses from the label along with menswear and the recently launched line of Shantanu & Nikhil accessories!
