December 21, 2018: In an unprecedented, positive move for all those associated with the luxury watch industry, Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva (SIHH) and Baselworld in Basel, the two major events in the watch industry, will synchronise their calendars from 2020. From that year, SIHH will be held from April 26 to 29 in Geneva, followed immediately by Baselworld from April 30 to May 5 in Basel.
Till now, SIHH happens in January, while Baselworld takes place in March every year. Getting the two shows together means that globally, media and watch industry professionals will only need to travel to Switzerland once. And also, all the watch trends will be defined in a span of two weeks, leading to less palpitations in watch lovers!
The calendars of the shows have been synchronised until 2024.
