Designer label Simar Dugal celebrates the arrival of spring with its new bridal couture collection. Known for showcasing beautiful, understated designs blended with rich Indian textiles and exemplary craftsmanship, the fashion label was started by the late model and designer Simar Dugal.
Following the brand’s love for embroideries, her son, Arjan Dugal, has unveiled his second full collection as the creative head of the label. Capturing the vivacity of this season, the brand whimsically weaves its own roots with a joyous blend of colors to create this line.
Yet again, the collection is themed around the revival of embroideries, but all with a subtle shift of colors and creativity. An extension of their existing collection Mahaba, flowy outlines and detailed intricacies are at the heart of the collection. In an urge to reflect the brand’s values, the iconic gota work is reimagined in supple summery hues of cyan and mustard. All about creating a new story for the brides, the collection is a celebration of feminism.
The show stealer of the lineup includes elaborate Anaar motif lehengas with bright colors and detailed embroidery, multi coloured piping, and organza dupattas. The styling is elevated with the iconic Namrita design presented in deeper, navy-blue tones.
Traditional floral patterns are merged with geometric shapes to present a unique aesthetic.
Harnessing contemporary style, Dhoti pants and free flowing styles, perfect for summer weddings are introduced. Striking shades of bronze and timbre tints were added to the color palette with hand threaded and vintage Banarasi motifs and other adornments.
For brides who want a glitzy and glamorous appeal, the collection is lavished with diamonds. The shimmering silhouettes, hand embroidery and a diverse range of colors represents an elegant and timeless appeal.
