The exclusive members-only club, Soho House, has intriguing plans for Japan. The hotel group has announced the opening of its inaugural Japanese location in 2026. Soho House’s expansion into Japanese land represents a strategic move to tap into the nation’s vibrant creative and burgeoning cultural scene.
By establishing Soho House Tokyo in the heart of the Aoyama district near the Omotesando area, the club aims to cater to Japan’s diverse pool of talent in fashion, design, media, and international creatives.
Members will enjoy exclusive access to the stylish club space, a stunning rooftop pool and terrace, 42 beautifully designed bedrooms, and versatile event spaces. The interiors promise a captivating fusion of Japanese minimalist elegance and the cozy, inviting atmosphere Soho House is renowned for.
For those seeking global access to Soho Houses during their travels, along with exclusive local events in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and more, Cities Without Houses (CWH), Japan has something special. This membership will allow creatively inclined individuals from all corners of the world to forge meaningful connections, even in cities without a physical Soho House presence. Members can look forward to joining upcoming CWH global events such as Milan Fashion Week, Dubai Design Week, Singapore Art Week, and Frieze Seoul, ensuring they’re always at the heart of the creative pulse.
After Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, this space in Tokyo will become the fourth jewel in Soho House’s Asian crown. All of the previous properties have opened within the past six years. The new House, spanning four luxurious floors, will be close to an eclectic mix of independent boutiques, a dynamic fashion scene, and avant-garde art galleries for which the district is famous.
About the new initiative, Dominique Bellas, Membership Director, Cities Without Houses, said, “Soho House has a strong connection with Tokyo and has been bringing together interesting, diverse Japanese creatives for the past eight years through our Cities Without Houses membership. We can’t wait to open our first House in Japan and welcome more of the incredible talent in the capital city to be part of our global membership community.”
These Houses provide access to an array of amenities, including club spaces, bedrooms, gyms, wellness facilities, Cowshed spas, and screening rooms. With 43 Soho Houses spanning creative epicenters like Paris, London, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles, CWH members are always close to a ‘home away from home.’
