Just like its name, the Sufi range of products by The Imperial Spa & Salon aim to quietly do their work, while giving a respite from the turmoil your skin faces each and everyday. It passes brilliantly through our test!
‘Organic’ and ‘natural’ are the ‘in’ words right now. Right from food to what we wear is impacted by these two phenomena. Having such skincare becomes all the more imperative. And this brings Sufi – skincare products manufactured by The Imperial Spa & Salon – into the picture.
Sufi was launched last year with a range of essential oils, which were accepted very well by the patrons of the hotel. In its recent second phase, the brand has now launched an assortment of products, including Monsoon Rose, Open pore cleanser, Down pore cleanser, Lift Off make-up remover, Night Rose Moisturizer, Daylight Moisturizer, Ultra Soft Body Cream and Sufi Eyes.
Considering my part-oily and part-normal skin, I picked up the Open Pore Cleanser, Daylight Moisturiser and Monsoon Rose for myself. All these products are paraben free, a blend of 75 per cent natural and organic ingredients, thus making them quite eco-friendly.
The Open Pore Cleanser, with key notes of Neroli, Pettigrain, Vitamin C and Zinc, aims to “purify and balance” oily and combination skin. This pristine white cleanser has a smooth texture, like a lotion, which easily spreads on the skin. I used it like a face wash. Take one pump in wet hands – which is more than enough – and spread evenly on the face. It has a light, citrus-y fragrance which is quite pleasant. Leave it for just about 15 seconds, or maybe don’t, and wash off. You will feel as if your face has been zapped off all excess oil! It literally works like a clay mask, which you won’t need if you use this cleanser frequently.
A delight specially for the summer season, the cleanser makes sure your skin is purified, and ready to brave another round in the sun. However, don’t use it excessively. Using it twice or thrice a week, or when you come home after an exceptionally hot day, is enough. It’s that powerful! And since you need only a drop every time, the cleanser will last you long.
The Daylight Moisturiser, again, is a highly effective concoction of Pearl Extract, healing Aloe Vera and Willow Bark Extract to soothe and even out the skin. And after using it for almost three weeks, I can assure that it works. One to two pumps are sufficient again. Light brown in colour, it has a creamy texture which spreads evenly on the skin again, and has a delicate, earthy smell. Being non-greasy, it gives just enough hydration to the skin to be able to make it sustain the summer heat without making you sweat.
The combination of Open Pore Cleanser and Daylight Moisturiser, in fact, is an effectual therapy for oily skin. After using both the products together, along with a good toner, my skin has become cleaner, smoother and softer to touch.
Monsoon Rose, a pure Damascus Rose Water which The Imperial says can be used as a toner, wasn’t successful for that task. But it can work as a wonderful mist or refresher this season. Quite delicate, two to three pumps of Monsoon Water will surely perk you up!
The Imperial Spa & Salon uses these products in their in-house treatments. However, they are available on retail as well. Highly recommended, Sufi surely delivers its promises!
