July 8, 2011: Tarun Tahiliani’s Bridal Couture Exposition is bigger and grander this year. Might we add – much more impressive than the previous editions!
In its third season now, the exposition creates a new benchmark in the display of India’s rich heritage styled in a contemporary manner. The theme chosen for this year is ‘Artisanal- Bringing the Craft to the Fore’- a novel blend of Indian finery with a layered western construct.
Close on the heels of the Delhi edition, the exposition is all set to reach Mumbai at The Four Seasons Hotel from July 22-24, 2011; followed by Hyderabad at the newly launched The Park Hyderabad from August 6-7, 2011, culminating at Kolkata’s The Park from August 20-21, 2011.
The Bridal Couture Exposition highlights the finest weaves, embroideries, jewels, stones and techniques of India – which is aimed to bring the traditional Indian artisans and processes to the fore, resulting in a new luxe and fine fit that is uniquely Indian.
The full glory of Mr Tahiliani’s creations can be seen on the mannequins which are draped in full finery including superb jewels by Forevermark. The set-up aims to emulate an opulent Indian wedding. The ‘Swarovski Apsara’ adds a magnificent sense of grandeur.
Also seen at the venue were some superb Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve whiskies – after all, Indian weddings are a symbol of joy and celebration with only the best!
