Ancestry Antiques Gallery launched at Tarun Tahiliani studio

The Ancestry Antiques Gallery launched at the Tarun Tahiliani Couture Studio

May 13, 2014: Dinsha and Munchi Shroff have opened The Ancestry Antiques Gallery within the Tarun Tahiliani couture studio in Chattarpur, New Delhi. The Ancestry Antiques Gallery showcases coveted objets d’art collected by Dinsha and Munchi Shroff, also known as the ‘Osler twins’ for their vast range of crystal furniture and chandeliers by F&C Osler.

The two established the Ancestry antiques store in Mumbai in 1995 and have been supplying rare antiquities to elite establishments and homes around India and the Gulf since. Both Ancestry and their store in Dubai, the Royal Treasures Gallery, feature fine Oriental wooden furniture, European and Chinese crystal artefacts and antiques, Baccarat chandeliers and F&C Osler chandeliers.

Historically, F&C Osler chandeliers have appealed to the tastes of wealthy Indian elite, making India Osler’s choice of market outside the United Kingdom. Hence, Osler has supplied tailor-made creations to a wealthy customer base of Maharajahs. They even opened a showroom in Calcutta in 1843. The Crystal Gallery, housed in Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur features India’s largest range of exquisite crystal furniture and chandeliers ordered from F&C Osler, London in 1877. Many Indian palaces carried Osler chandeliers and furniture, often infused with colour and upholstered in vibrant velvets to suit the eastern aesthetic and appreciation of colour.

The Ancestry Antiques Gallery presents the Shroff’s collection of antiques with pedigree lineage and undoubtable artistic value that would appeal to any antiques aficionado.
