February 18, 2019: Born from the sculptural shoes presented during the FENDI Couture Fall/Winter 2018-19 show in Paris, the FFreedom Collection of shoes evolves including contemporary models made with elegant fabrics, modern colours and unique drawings that have appeared on the Spring/Summer 2019 catwalk.
Taking inspiration from the namesake version of the FF logo, the silhouette is defined by a squared shape with slightly rounded corners and a sinuous heel with 3D details, a pure element of design that requires incredible workmanship. A plain white sole is colour-contrasted by a black finish which enhances the shoe like a real frame.
A technical material called “framis” – traditionally used in the sports world and applied through a heat-sealing process – injects ultra-feminine pumps in Lycra with graphism and three-dimensionality. The bold colour palette, from powder pink to fluorescent fuchsia, highlights the glamorous allure of the shoes.
The FFreedom logo becomes whispered on sandals and pumps with a patchwork pattern, realized with different materials, like Lycra and mesh in monocolor degradé tones, that are mixed and heat-sealed together. Textured rubber lines, applied through high-frequency and injection, infuse the shape with additional three-dimensionality. The upper presents a contrasting zig-zag embroidery that apparently looks like a seam, adding a graphic twist to the design of the FFreedom. The final sporty yet stylish touch is given by a removable rubber ankle strap with the word FENDI.
