July 4, 2012: After the success of the first two editions, and owing to much demand we are sure, the third edition of Cartier ‘Travel with Style’ Concours d’ Elegance will be held in Mumbai in February 2013. This edition will feature classic automobiles, motorcycles and a new ‘Edwardian Class’ – for cars made from the dawn of motoring to 1914.
However, as only a limited number of entries can be showcased from India’s extraordinary, eclectic and rare collections of vintage cars and motorcycles, new entry procedure has been put in place for all future Cartier Concours d’Elegances in India along with appointment of chief judge H.R.H Prince Michael of Kent.
Participants needs to send full details and provenance of their vehicle/s or motorcycle/s with recent photographs, to [email protected] by August 31, 2012, which will then be forwarded to London for the final selection to be made by a highly experienced panel of automotive judges, headed by the Chief Judge H.R.H. Prince Michael of Kent and Cartier’s Curator Manvendra Singh of Barwani.
Prince Michael supports over one hundred charities and organisations, including the Royal Automobile Club, of which he is President. He patrons the FIA Foundation, First Gear, Benjafields Racing Club, The Brooklands Museum Trust and The Institute of the Motor Industry.
The Automobile Class list for 2013 includes: Edwardian Class – cars till 1914; Pre War Classics – from 1915 to 1939; Post War Classics – America – American cars from 1940 to 1960; Post War Classics – European – European cars from 1940 to 1960; Roadsters – till 1960; Indian Heritage Class – from 1947 to 1960; Right Hand Drive CKD cars and/or cars manufactured in India; and Preservation Class – Original cars from till 1960.
Motorcycle Classes include: Pre War Classics – till 1939; Post War Classics – from 1940 to 1960; and Racing – till 1960.
