April 21, 2016: Renowned leather accessories brand, Tod’s, unveils its 2016 ‘Looking at Tod’s Leo’ edition, which sees the iconic loafers transformed under the modern vision of five young Italian designers.
A project led by architect Giulio Cappellinni, Looking at Tod’s Leo reinvents the label’s legacy with the help of Lanzavecchia + Wai, Leonrado Talarico, mist-o, Studio Zanellato/Bortotto and Zaven. Working in different fields such as architecture and fine art, each designer wields a disparate material – ceramic, marble, leather, metal or wood – that results in a totally new identity for the iconic Leo Clamp.
Celebrating creativity, the distinct designs form five limited versions of Tod’s Leo Clamp Gommino, the first chapter of which was unveiled at the 2016 installment of Salone del Mobile. A sixth limited edition, curated by an American designer, will debut during New York Design Week (May 3 – 17).
All five capsule lines are available for purchase online as well as in Tod’s flagship Via della Spiga Milan boutique.
