June 2011: Stepping out of the box, literally, Italian fashion brand Tod’s redefines stylish fashion and renews its association with the Teatro alla Scala, the home of opera and ballet in Italy. Taking philanthropy to another level, this effort showcases the brand’s patronage of arts and its commitment to preserving the unique heritage of craftsmanship. The relationship was first initiated in 2010 with a conceptual video called ‘An Italian Dream’ featuring ballet dancers from Teatro alla Scala, who interpreted through dance the multiple steps that take place in the creation of a Tod’s shoe. With sheer kindness, the brand supported Teatro alla Scala across all productions for one artistic season.
Taking this unique partnership forward, Tod’s has now joined the Teatro alla Scala Foundation. Tod’s has committed an investment of 5.2 Million euros over four years to the Foundation and will be among the permanent founders starting January 1, 2012. The other founders of the Teatro alla Scala Foundation include Pirelli, ENI, Generali, BPM, Fondazione Cariplo and Fininvest.
With this important step, the brand renews its commitment to sustaining the skills and qualities that lie at the heart of 'Made in Italy’. Heartfelt, yet stylish – amazing combination!
