August 24, 2015: Jewelry designer Varuna D Jani has blended her Indian and international sensibilities for her new bridal collection ‘Vows that Bind’. Ms Jani also chose this occasion to announce the VOW initiative which has been conceptualised to empower women and to bring about a paradigm shift in the way jewellery is made and viewed.
The collection brings to life the possibility of beautiful crafted Bridal jewellery being multi-functional, whose design can be adapted and altered to create several different looks for the wearer for multiple occasions.
Ms Jani’s VOW initiative is a tribute to her parents. The VOW mission is drawn from the five spiritual purposes of awakening the talent that is inherent in an individual; discovering this talent and harnessing it; experiencing the transfer of knowledge and skills and making them a part of an enriching and knowledgeable experience; internalizing, assimilating the knowledge and skills and internally channelizing it to achieve their potential and lastly, becoming the successful women of tomorrow.
As a part of this initiative, Ms Jani has already mentored Leena of SevaSadan NGO. Also to further empower the talented passionate and creative designer community and to spread her passion of adornment, Ms Jani has sponsored Gunjan Suri’s book, Sieve by Design, that will help any new designer make a mark in the world of design. A part of the proceeds from the sales of this book will also go towards forwarding the work of the initiative.
