It feels “like liquor” time! An American whisky with queen Beyoncé’s magic – that’s the inspiration behind creating SirDavis. LVMH-owned Moët Hennessy has teamed up with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter to create this revolutionary new whisky. This collaboration is a first-of-its-kind venture that merges Ms. Knowles-Carter’s star power with Moët Hennessy’s expertise, aiming to redefine American whisky.
SirDavis is the result of years of meticulous development. The 32x Grammy-winning singer, a dedicated fan of Japanese whisky, approached Moët Hennessy to help bring her unique flavor vision to life. At the same time, the brand was looking to strengthen its footprint in the American whisky scene, making this partnership a perfect match.
The new whisky It pays tribute to Davis Hogue, Ms. Knowles-Carter’s paternal great-grandfather, who was a farmer and moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition. Hogue would conceal bottles of whisky in the hollow knots of cedar trees for friends and family to find and savor.
For Beyonce, this storied past made the creation of a whisky brand feel like destiny. Now, four generations later, the legacy of Hogue’s clandestine hooch is realized in a modern way, as SirDavis bottles now proudly occupy the top shelves of esteemed spirit retailers worldwide.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling. When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated.” Queen Bee said.
“SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy. In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis,” she expanded.
The concoction has earned top honors in the American whiskey category, winning Best In Class at the 2023 SIP Awards, where it beat out over 100 competitors. This prestigious award is given to the highest-rated spirits in their category, as judged by consumers. SirDavis also scored a Gold Medal (95 points) at the 2023 New York International Spirits Competition and a 93-point rating from the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
The brand’s distinctive bottle design, guided by Beyoncé’s artistic vision, features a tall, elegant bottle with ribbed glass that enhances the whisky’s visual appeal. The black medallion with a bronzed horse symbolizes strength and reflects Knowles-Carter’s Texan heritage.
Additionally, SirDavis is finished, blended, and bottled in Texas, marking it as Moët Hennessy’s first U.S.-developed spirit brand. Priced at $89, SirDavis is available for pre-order at SirDavis.com and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
