Zegna enhances its style for Spring Summer 2025 collection

The brand expands on its established vocabulary, enhancing its lab-like processes to offer better creations and more comfort.

Luxury menswear brand Zegna unveiled its Spring/Summer 2025 collection amidst a backdrop of juxtaposing mechanical and natural elements. Embracing the ethos of diversity and individuality, models showcased the collection’s soft and supple ensembles as they gracefully walked down a sandy runway.

The new “Mocassin” loafer stands as the sole footwear choice, embodying a summery Italian attitude. Abstract prints reminiscent of a botanical oasis theme complement the collection, alongside soft, roomy suede bags.

The color palette blends neutral tones like Bianco Zegna, Sentiero yellow, Sorgente blue, Sabbia, Faggio, and Castoro with accents of Terracotta and Ortensia, enriched by Nero Opaco. This chromatic diversity enhances textures ranging from linen and lightweight fabrics to silk blends, mohair, Oasi Cashmere, and SECONDSKIN light calf and nubuck for accessories.

Danish actor and brand ambassador Mads Mikkelsen brought the runway to a stylish close, wearing a chocolate-brown jacquard knit and wide-leg trousers ensemble. The look was layered with a deep terracotta ‘Il Conte’ leather jacket that matched his buttery soft Mocassin loafers. Completing the look, he carried coordinating hold-alls in each hand.

About the collection, creative director Alessandro Sartori shared, “There is something quintessentially Italian to this collection, in the gentry world the shapes suggest and the insouciant manner they are worn by men who play buoyantly with their own appearance.”

He further explained, “We decided to build our language starting from them. At the beginning of the season we draw a lot, after which we use the most important materials, in this case canvas, camel hair, raw linen and Japanese cotton, as canvases in raw colors with which to build the silhouettes that we then try on men aged 20 and 60 years of age. We bring them from the different parts of the world they live in and observe how they react to what they wear. Since we are not used to acting as models, we can immediately see if they feel at ease and this helps us understand if we are going in the right direction.”

This process of ‘testing’ by Zegna is a novel technique to judge the comfort of their creations.
