The menswear collection of Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) is now available in India, exclusively at Kitsch stores in Kalaghoda and DLF Emporio Mall.
Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2012 men’s collection comprises of classic looks with an edgier contemporary cut in a colour palette of sand and sky, while the mood of the clothes is alternately tribal and military. Khaki drill is a shade of the season. The designer, Stephano Pilati, showed it in a trench or baggy pleated shorts that could have been lifted from the trunk of Rommel’s desert rats. Pilati introduced the threat that it could be literally undone with a swath of drawstrings and laces trailing up the forearms of a white shirt, on a drill tee and matching shorts, and linking the halves of a bifurcated jacket. A double-breasted coat with a pleated back and a white blouson with a funnel neck also speak of the Sahara-based commando units.
