Hospitality Included, a newly formed Chicago-based restaurant group, has announced its third concept, ARLA, set to open in the Gold Coast this summer, alongside the formal launch of the group itself. Behind this announcement is the same team responsible for Adalina Italian, a Gold Coast restaurant that has been running since 2021, and Adalina Prime, their steakhouse in Fulton Market that opened in 2025.

ARLA will be located on the top floor of 15 East Oak Street, in the space previously occupied by Fred’s, the restaurant that was part of the Barneys New York store before the luxury retailer closed its Chicago location. Surrounded by luxury brands like Hermes, Harry Winston and Tom Ford, it is a well-known address in the city. ARLA will cover 8,500 square feet, seat 230 guests inside, and extend onto two open-air terraces that can seat an additional 60 people, with views of Lake Michigan and the Oak and Rush street corridor below.
ARLA’s menu will be led by Chef and Partner Soo Ahn, who brings a specific and well-established point of view to the kitchen. Ahn earned a Michelin star at Band of Bohemia in 2019 and competed on Top Chef Season 21. His cooking has consistently drawn from multiple culinary traditions rather than staying within a single one. At ARLA, the menu will be built on a Mediterranean coastal base with Japanese technique running through it, featuring fresh seafood, vegetarian dishes, proteins cooked over a live-fired hearth, and a dedicated sushi and raw bar section.

This kind of cross-cultural fine dining has gained significant ground over the last few years, with restaurants in New York, London, and Los Angeles proving that diners are drawn to menus that blend culinary traditions with a clear and consistent identity.
LG Group and their in-house design studio Offshoot Creative are handling the build and interior design. LG Group has been behind several of Chicago’s more design-forward restaurant spaces in recent years, including Maxwells Trading, Itoko, Rose Mary, and Pizzeria Portofino. For ARLA, the interior will bring together Mediterranean and Japanese design references, using sculptural gold details, wooden and marble surfaces, and richly patterned fabrics across a multi-level layout.
Alongside ARLA, the group has formally introduced itself as ‘Hospitality Included’. Ahn is joined by partners Phil Siudak, Matt Deichl, Miles Muslin, and Jonathan Gillespie, who bring experience across restaurant operations, service, and large-scale hospitality management. The name is a direct expression of the group’s philosophy, that good hospitality is not something added on at the end but is built into every decision from the beginning.

Siudak said, “Through Adalina Prime and Adalina Italian, we’ve been able to shape and sharpen our approach, learning the type of hospitality that resonates with our guests and how to deliver it consistently. Hospitality isn’t an add-on for us, it’s our foundation from the front door to the kitchen. We’re excited to continue this approach in our next chapter with ARLA, just steps from where our group began.”
ARLA will be the largest of the three restaurants by Hospitality Included by footprint and the most complex by format, combining two distinct culinary traditions under one roof with a multi-level indoor and outdoor layout. It is scheduled to open in summer 2026.
