August 13, 2020: Aston Martin and Bowmore had decided to collaborate back in 2019 but it is now that they will be coming up with the first fruit of their partnership. The limited edition whisky, called the Black Bowmore DB5 1964, is well on its way to becoming one of the most coveted ones for both car and whisky aficionados.
Priced at $65,000, the single malt scotch whisky is one-of-a-kind with an actual Aston Martin DB5 piston incorporated in the bottle. The name of the whisky signifies iconic products of both the brands. The singular and rare Black Bowmore was first distilled in 1964, the same year when Aston Martin’s DB5 impressed audiences in Goldfinger, the legendary James Bond movie. With only 25 bottles, this is an ode to the storied past of the two world class brands.
The 700 ml whisky bottle is handcrafted by Glassstorm, a renowned producer of bespoke premium glass. It comes in a stunning handmade box which is held together by string-grain calfskin with a brass latch and nickel-plated hinge. The box also contains a book containing Bowmore’s rich history that goes back to the year 1779.
The collaboration between these two brands is expected to result in more such products in the coming future.
